![]() Education & Awareness
Alabama continues to rank nationally among the worst in teen pregnancy rates; and we must continue and strengthen our efforts to provide educational opportunities and support services at state and local levels to address the issues associated with teen pregnancy and teen childbearing. The Alabama Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy believes these educational opportunities and support services must focus on raising awareness about the complexities of adolescent sexual risk-taking behaviors, assessing risk and protective factors affecting youth in Alabama communities, evaluating evidence-based programs that prevent teen pregnancy and HIV/AIDS, and implementing proven-effective, evidence-based programs will give Alabama communities strong programs that will ultimately reduce the rates of teen pregnancy and childbearing.
